Coordinating Emergency Response from One Location

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is our central hub for coordinating response and recovery during major emergencies and disasters. Located at the DeKalb County Police Department Headquarters, the EOC ensures field responders have the resources needed to carry out their assignments.

How the EOC Works

Primary Functions

  • Direction and control of emergency operations
  • Information management and data coordination
  • Resource management and deployment
  • Priority setting and decision-making support
  • Public information coordination
  • Multi-agency communication hub

Activation Levels

  • Level 3: Monitoring - This is the lowest activation level, involving routine observation and assessment of a situation without requiring immediate action.
  • Level 2: Partial Activation - Deploys select teams and resources to manage a developing situation, ensuring increased readiness and partial staffing of operations center.
  • Level 1: Full Activation - Fully mobilizes all teams and resources for comprehensive incident management.
