Efforts to improve the watershed system throughout DeKalb County continue Monday, Aug. 10 with the launch of the Winters Chapel Water Main Replacement Project. Crews will replace 3,100 linear feet of aging pipelines. The line repair project is expected to last approximately four months (August to November 2026). barring any weather delays.

Following a one-year hiatus, DeKalb–Peachtree Airport (PDK) will host its Good Neighbor Day Air Show and Open House on September 19, 2026. Gates will open at 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry, will host Dive into DeKalb, a back-to-school resource pool party and movie night on Thursday, July 30, at N.H. Scott Pool, 2230 Tilson Road, Decatur, GA. The community resource fair will take place from 3 to 6 p.m., followed by swimming and a movie beginning at dusk.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a Parks Citizen Advisory Board Committee meeting on Tuesday, July 28 at 6 p.m. at the East Central DeKalb Community and Senior Center, Stone Mountain, Ga. 30083.

The DeKalb County Planning & Sustainability Department officially launches the County’s comprehensive land use plan update (2055 Unified Plan Update).
