Unidentified Cases

In 2022, the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office identified 27 unidentified individuals whose remains were housed at the Medical Examiner’s Office, many of whom are presumed homicide victims. This led to the creation of the DeKalb County Cold Case Task Force, dedicated to identifying these individuals and bringing closure to families.

The Task Force is comprised of staff from the District Attorney’s Office, the Medical Examiner’s Office, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the DeKalb County Police Department, and a private lab partner.
