Fleet Management
The Fleet Management Division keeps DeKalb County’s vehicles and equipment in peak condition. With more than 3,600 vehicles – from police cars and fire trucks to sanitation trucks and heavy construction machinery – Fleet ensures every department has the reliable tools it needs to serve the public.
This division also leads sustainability efforts with 424 alternative-fuel vehicles, including compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, electric, and hybrid models. County vehicles travel nearly 30 million miles annually, with CNG use now surpassing diesel by 80 percent. Preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and efficiency programs reduce downtime and extend the life of county assets.
