Commercial Sanitation Services
The DeKalb County Sanitation Division provides commercial garbage, recycling, roll-off containers, and special collection services for businesses located in unincorporated DeKalb County and participating cities under an intergovernmental agreement (IGA).

Service Requirements
Commercial establishments located in unincorporated DeKalb County and cities operating under an IGA with DeKalb County are required to use County-provided commercial solid waste services. Private haulers are not permitted.

Payment Information
Commercial account payments can be made online, by mail, or in person.
A $150 delivery/removal fee per container and the first month’s service charge will be added to the initial bill.
Garbage Collection Services
DeKalb County offers commercial garbage collection through front-load dumpsters, compactors, and limited hand-collection (roll cart) service.
Container Options
County-Provided Containers:
- Front-load dumpsters: 3, 4, 6, and 8 cubic yards
- Service frequencies available from 1 to 6 days per week
Commercial Compactors:
- 30-cubic-yard self-contained or breakaway compactors
Customer-Provided Containers:
- Compactors (requires County approval)
Hand-Collection (Roll Cart) Service
Hand-collection service is available only for businesses that cannot accommodate a minimum of a 3-yard dumpster.
Important guidelines:
- Site assessment required before service begins
- Yard trimmings are not included
- More than three roll carts require dumpster or roll-off service
Roll cart repair, replacement, or return requests may be submitted by email.
Items Not Accepted in Garbage Containers
The following items are not permitted:
- Tires
- Tree limbs or logs
- Furniture
- Carpet
- Wood or pallets
- Dirt, rock, or concrete
- Appliances
- Large automotive parts
- Deceased animals

Roll-Off Container Service
Roll-off containers are available for temporary commercial disposal needs, including construction and demolition projects.
Available Sizes:
- 10-yard
- 20-yard
- 30-yard
- 40-yard
Rental period is up to two weeks per request.
Requests for emptying and returning a roll-off container require a new rental fee.
Commercial accounts must be current to request service.
Accepted Materials:
- Construction debris
- Demolition debris
- General garbage
Prohibited Materials:
- Tires
- Propane tanks
- Paint
- Batteries
- Chemicals
- Asbestos
- Liquids
- Dirt or rocks
- Tree debris
Note: Tires placed in roll-off containers will be removed at the customer’s expense.
Commercial Recycling Services
Commercial recycling services are available for eligible businesses.
New recycling customers will receive a 6-yard recycling container and must maintain service at least once per week.
Businesses with space limitations may qualify for 65-gallon recycling roll carts.

School Recycling Program
The DeKalb School Recycling Program supports schools located within DeKalb County that want to establish commercial recycling service.
After application submission, the Sanitation Division will:
- Conduct a site assessment
- Deliver recycling containers
- Provide training for school staff and students

Special Collection Services
Special collection service is available for bulky or oversized commercial waste.
Requests are typically serviced within five business days after the request form is submitted and payment is approved.
Fees:
- $225.50 per half truckload
- $451.00 per full truckload
Charges will be added to the customer’s monthly bill.
