The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections will hold a special called meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. for the purpose of considering voter challenges. This meeting will be conducted at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, Ga. 30032.

The DeKalb County Police Department Community Policing Unit is hosting its third Annual Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 31, 2023. This free event will be held in the Kroger parking lot, 2385 Wesley Chapel Road, from 6 to 8 p.m. During the event, there will be music, face painting, games, costume contests and candy being handed out by DeKalb County Police officers. The purpose of the event is to create a safe environment for DeKalb residents to participate in the Halloween tradition of trick-or-treating. All residents are welcome to participate.

DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) announced the location of 13 advance voting locations and changes to the schedule, giving voters expanded opportunities to vote early. Advance voting in DeKalb begins Oct. 16 and concludes Nov. 3; weekdays 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; and Sundays, noon–5 p.m. Election Day is Nov. 7, and polls will be open from 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

DeKalb Recreational Parks and Cultural Affairs will host a Breast Cancer Brunch Awareness Month Celebration on Saturday, October 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Exchange Intergenerational Recreation Center, 2771 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Ga. The event’s registration is $25 per guest and will include food and a t-shirt. Patrons will enjoy a morning filled with education, empowerment, community engagement and a Zumba class.
