DeKalb County Public Library Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023. The meeting will be held at Embry Hills Library, 3733 Chamblee-Tucker Road, Chamblee, GA 30341. The meeting will also be live-streamed. The DeKalb County Police Department's Police Athletic League is hosting its Second Annual PAL Pumpkin 5k Run/Walk on October 28, 2023, at 9 a.m. On race day, there will also be activities for the whole family. Registration for the race is only $35. A signature race t-shirt and participation race medal will be given to each registered participant. Race awards will be given in several age categories.

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews are currently working to assess a low water pressure issue along the 2000 block of Cloverdale Drive and Cavanaugh Avenue. Customers in the affected area may experience brown water and are encouraged to run the faucets inside and outside their homes/businesses to clear the internal plumbing.

DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond announces a $10 million comprehensive strategy to address overcrowding at DeKalb County Animal Services Center. “Residents who lack the financial resources to properly care for their pets are fueling the overcrowding crisis at our animal shelter,” CEO Thurmond said.

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections meeting for the purpose of conducting its normal monthly business will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. This meeting will be conducted in person at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, Ga. 30032.
