The DeKalb County Sanitation Division will host its fall household hazardous waste recycling event on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, from 8 a.m. – noon, at the Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur, GA 30032. During the event, county residents will have an opportunity to properly dispose of dangerous household items that are no longer in use.

DeKalb County’s East Central DeKalb Community & Senior Center’s aqua aerobics and Zumba program registration is now open. Patrons ages 18 and up are invited to register for aqua aerobics. The registration fee is $60 and is a six-week program designed to improve joint stability, coordination, heart health, and strength. The program will be offered on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The DeKalb County Animal Services Advisory Board will hold its next meeting on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. The Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity to the DeKalb County Government about matters related to Animal Services. The board also serves as a liaison to animal advocacy groups, animal professionals and County government for the purpose of creating a method for clear communication.
