CEO Thurmond Appoints Carina Swain as New E-911 Director

DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond has appointed Carina Swain as the county’s E-911 director. A public safety professional with more than 16 years of experience, Swain worked for the Atlanta Police Department from 2019 to 2023, most recently serving as an E-911 Communications shift manager. From 2016 to 2019, Swain worked for Fulton County Emergency Services as an E-911 Communications senior supervisor.
DeKalb County Ethics Board to Hold Ethics Forum

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections meeting for the purpose of conducting its normal monthly business will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. This meeting will be conducted in person at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur, Georgia 30032.
DeKalb Industrial Way Lane Closure Extends to Coalter Way on April 2

On Tuesday, April 2, the DeKalb Industrial Way lane closure will be extended from Lawrenceville Highway to Coalter Way. As a result, Irvin Way will be closed, which will require a detour to North Decatur Road or Coalter Way and Winn Way. This lane closure and detour are necessary as crews make progress in replacing the 30-inch Ductile Iron Pipe water main that is part of the Scott Boulevard Water Main Replacement Project Phase II.
