Anyone staying in the warming centers must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols that include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check. Persons in DeKalb County who need homelessness assistance or housing services can contact DeKalb County Coordinated Entry by calling (404) 687-3500. DeKalb County Public Library Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024. The meeting will be held at Chamblee Library, 4115 Clairmont Road, Chamblee, GA  30341. The meeting will also be live-streamed. The DeKalb County Police Department is hosting a One Stop Shop Hiring event on March 9, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 1950 W. Exchange Place, Tucker, Ga. 30084. Candidates will have the opportunity to complete the hiring process and potentially walk away with a conditional offer. Maximum starting salary for certified officers is $62,164 and $57,750 for non-certified individuals.

East Ponce de Leon Avenue, between Grove Place and north of DeKalb Industrial Way, will experience lane closures through July 2024 as crews work to replace aging water mains. The work is part of the Scott Boulevard Water Main Replacement Project Phase II. Lane closure and detour signs have been placed in the area to advise motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.
