DeKalb County Police Department invites the community to attend the DeKalb County Fallen Officers Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the DeKalb History Center (Old Courthouse Courtyard) 101 East Court Square, Decatur, GA 30030. May of each year has been recognized as a time for law enforcement agencies throughout the county to pay tribute to fallen officers and their families.

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County will continue on Monday, April 29, with the launch of the Woodacres Water Main Replacement Project. Crews will replace 4,105 linear feet of waterline along Battle Drive, Jordan Terrace, Woodacres Road, Malabar Drive and Wentworth Drive. This line repair project is expected to last approximately six months (April to October 2024), barring any weather delays.

The DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections Office (DeKalb VRE) encourages all registered voters to make a plan to vote for the upcoming May 21, 2024 General Primary Election. Voters are also urged to remain aware of any possible impacts to local mail service in requesting and returning voter-related documents. “Our goal is to ensure our residents can vote with confidence by being prepared, informed and empowered before casting ballots,” said Keisha Smith, executive director of DeKalb VRE. “With every election, we are working tirelessly to ensure an easy and seamless election experience for DeKalb County voters.”

DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host his second Quarterly in the Fourth community breakfast meeting for 2024 on Saturday, April 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. at East Central DeKalb Community and Senior Center located 4875 Elam Road, Stone Mountain. “I am pleased to have DeKalb County Public Safety Director Jack Lumpkin Sr. as the guest speaker at this Saturday’s second Q4 breakfast to discuss public safety operations and service delivery,” Commissioner Bradshaw said.
