DeKalb County is experiencing issues with some of its computer devices due to the Crowdstrike outage affecting the nation. The county’s Department of Innovation and Technology is in the process of implementing the necessary fix throughout the county. The county’s E911 Department is able to receive and dispatch calls. Residents are asked to call E911 only for emergencies. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

In response to National Weather Service forecasts of heat indices exceeding 100 degrees, DeKalb County is opening cooling centers Tuesday, July 16. For a list of available cooling centers, visit www.dekalbcountyga.gov/weather. DeKalb County recreation centers and libraries will be available as cooling centers during the locations’ normal business hours. Water fountains will be accessible at recreation centers and libraries.

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews have completed repairs to the six-inch-diameter water main on Forest Green Drive near Briarcliff Road. As service is restored, customers in the affected area may experience brown water and are encouraged to run the faucets inside and outside their homes/businesses to clear the internal plumbing.

Night work on Tucker Industrial Road at the intersection of Elmdale Drive has been extended to Friday, July 26. Work will take place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday. Day work will resume on Monday, July 29. A detour will remain in effect for Tucker Industrial Road through Monday, Sept. 9, as crews replace aging sewer lines. Normal construction hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

Some customers in the area may lose water service during the repair.
