DeKalb County Commissioner Robert Patrick announces the upcoming American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Field Day, scheduled for June 22-23 at Pleasantdale Park, 3686 Pleasantdale Road, Atlanta, 30340. The public is invited to observe and learn more about ham radio operations at no charge beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23. The event will be hosted by the Alford Memorial Radio Club (AMRC) and will highlight the emergency communication skills of over 35,000 Ham Radio operators nationwide.

DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) encourages all registered voters who plan on voting on Election Day to make a plan to vote. Election results will be posted throughout the evening on Tuesday, June 18 at www.DeKalbVotes.com. DeKalb County Public Library Board of Trustees will convene on Monday, June 24, starting at 4 p.m. with a meeting of the Finance Committee. Afterward, the Board will hold a regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at Darro C. Willey–Administrative Center, 3560 Kensington Rd., Decatur, Ga. 30032. On June 13, concerned citizens of DeKalb County convened at a town hall meeting organized by Commissioner Ted Terry (D-6) to address the unprecedented lack of representation for residents of Districts 3 and 7 on the Board of Commissioners, a situation that could extend until the new commissioners are elected in a special election in November or until January if a runoff election is necessary.

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews are currently onsite to repair a broken water main near 2015 North Druid Hills Road and Buford Highway. Some customers in the area may lose water service during the repair. The pipe was damaged by a contractor not affiliated with DeKalb County.
