The major gateways and highly travelled interstates that channel tens of thousands of vehicles through DeKalb County everyday have received multimillion dollar facelifts. The project to beautify approximately 20 acres along I-20 and I-85, including Chamblee Tucker, Flat Shoals and Candler Roads, is now complete. These roadways and interchanges are among the most highly traveled highways in metro Atlanta.

Sen. Rev. Raphael Warnock has successfully secured a $40 million authorization for drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects in DeKalb County. “Georgians across the state rely on safe, clean, and reliable water for drinking, maintaining homes and businesses, and more,” Sen. Rev. Warnock said. “But this is the type of work that goes largely unrecognized until disaster strikes, highlighting why it is so important to secure investments today that will protect Georgia’s water infrastructure tomorrow.”

The closure of North Carter Road, between Forrest Boulevard and Chester Way, will be extended through next year Jan. 31. Crews will continue construction activities associated with the Scott Boulevard Water Main Replacement Project Phase III. Motorists should expect delays stemming from the road closure. Precautionary signs and traffic flaggers will assist in moving safely through the lane closure.

The closure of Craigie Avenue, between Livingstone Place and Brown Place, will be extended through next year Jan. 31. Crews will continue work on the Scott Boulevard Water Main Replacement Project Phase III. Motorists should expect delays stemming from the road closure. Precautionary signs and traffic flaggers will assist in moving local traffic safely around the closed off portion of the road.
