DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a Winter Break Camp Dec. 23 - 24, Dec. 26 - 27, Dec. 30 - 31 and Jan. 2 - 3 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost of the camp is $10 per day for children ages 5-13. Each participant must provide his or her own breakfast, lunch and snacks. To register, visit www.dekalbcountyga.gov/parks and click the “Register Online” button.

N. Carter Road, between Forrest Boulevard and Chester Way, will experience a full road closure through Friday, December 20 to facilitate a watermain replacement at 940 N. Carter Road, Decatur, Ga. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

The DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) applied for and was selected by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to participate in the National Public Safety Partnership program (PSP). The DOJ will provide the DKPD intensive training and technical assistance in the areas of gun violence, criminal justice collaboration, investigations, constitutional policing, community engagement, federal partnerships, crime analysis, and technology to identify strategies that target gun, drug, and gang violence.
