DeKalb County Commissioner Steve Bradshaw has allocated $45,000 of District 4 reserve funds for DeKalb County’s Lifeline Animal Shelter. The funding will be used to pay the adoption fees for all animals currently in the shelter. “Lifesaving is truly a community-wide effort, and we are grateful for the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners' leadership in encouraging adoptions and making them accessible to everyone,” said Kerry Moyers-Horton, DeKalb County Animal Services shelter director.

DeKalb County Commissioner Steve Bradshaw has allocated $135,000 of District 4 SPLOST transportation projects funds and another $200,000 will be allocated from the county’s Category 1D SPLOST funds to complete the design phase of the Bermuda Road at Stewart Mill Road roundabout project.

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continues on Monday, Oct. 3, with the launch of the Reindeer Drive Phase 2 Water Line Replacement Project. Crews will replace 17,400 linear feet (Shepherds Lane) and 15,800 linear feet (Woodland Hills) of crumbling water lines with new 8-inch- and 12-inch-diameter ductile-iron water lines along Reindeer Drive. This line repair project is expected to last approximately 14 months (October 2022 to December 2023), barring any weather delays.
