Efforts to improve the watershed system throughout DeKalb County continues on Monday, October 24, with the launch of the Barbashela Creek Sewer Replacement Project. Crews will work towards a wastewater treatment gravity sewer project to rehabilitate the system. The sewer replacement project is expected to last approximately 14 months (October 2022 to December 2023), barring any weather delays.

Beginning on October 17 through November 4, registered voters in DeKalb County will head to the polls for advance voting, also called early voting. “Advance voting is a safe and convenient way to cast your ballot during this upcoming election and we are pleased to offer 16 accessible locations throughout the county,” said Keisha Smith, executive director of DeKalb VRE. “We’re anticipating a large turnout for the General Election and as always, we encourage voters to make a plan to vote!”

Following a special-called meeting on October 10, the DeKalb BRE took additional measures to secure poll worker data in connection with Konnech Inc. PollChief. The emergency meeting had been convened following the arrest of Eugene Yu, the CEO of Konnech by the Los Angeles County District Attorney and allegations that L.A. County poll workers’ data had been stored on a server in China, in violation of their contract with Konnech.
