Efforts to improve the watershed system throughout DeKalb County continues on Monday, Oct. 31, with the launch of the Cobbs Creek Sewer Replacement Project. Crews will replace approximately 6,449 linear feet of sewer pipe and replace existing manholes. Phase 1 of the sewer replacement project is expected to last approximately 14 months (October 2022 to December 2023), barring any weather delays.

The DeKalb County Police Department Community Policing Unit is hosting its 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat with a Cop on October 31, 2022. This free event will be held in the Kroger parking lot, 2385 Wesley Chapel Road, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the event, there will be music, face painting, games, costume contests and candy being handed out by DeKalb County Police officers. Residents are invited to stop by for a fun and safe Halloween.

A portion of Kensington Road, between Camp Road and Memorial Drive, will be intermittently closed from Oct. 25 to Oct. 28 while crews work to replace a network of sewer mains. The work will require a one-lane closures and temporary detours for the safe transfer of equipment and machinery. Normal construction hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections will hold a special called meeting on October 21, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. for the purpose of reviewing voter challenges. This meeting will be conducted via teleconference (Zoom).
