DeKalb County to Open Four Warming Centers Nov. 12 and Nov. 13

DeKalb County will open four warming centers for residents to use overnight. Warming centers will be open in the following DeKalb County locations on Saturday, Nov. 12, and Sunday, Nov. 13, beginning at 8 p.m. Anyone staying in the warming centers must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols that include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.

On Friday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 13, DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will serve as the keynote speaker at two events honoring military men and women that served our nation. On Friday, Nov. 11, Commissioner Bradshaw will speak at the Decatur Rotary Club event, which will be from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m., and will include fellowship and lunch. The event will be held at the Old DeKalb County Courthouse, 101 East Court Square, Decatur.
DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections Announces Unofficial General Election Results

DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) has concluded initial unofficial and incomplete tabulations of the Nov. 8 General Election including absentee, advance in-person and Election Day voting. Due to Friday’s federal holiday, Veteran’s Day, Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) ballots must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14. Provisional ballots will also be factored into the final certified results.

Council Bluff Drive NE, between Pine Forest Drive NE and Black Fox Drive NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 7 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 10 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, to facilitate TV LLC filming. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.
