CEO Thurmond’s Employee Incentive Bonus Plan Approved by DeKalb Commissioners

Today, DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond’s plan to provide a one-time, $1,500 retention bonus for non-sworn frontline employees was unanimously approved by the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners. The $1,500 retention bonus will be provided to frontline employees in multiple departments, including, but not limited to, Watershed Management, Sanitation, Library, Parks and Roads and Drainage.

DeKalb County to Open Warming Centers Nov. 16-18

DeKalb County will open warming centers for residents to use this weekend. Warming centers will be open in the following DeKalb County locations on Nov. 16, Nov. 17, and Nov. 18, beginning at 8 p.m. Anyone staying in the warming centers must follow the county’s COVID-19 protocols that include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.

Commissioner Robert Patrick Allocates $100,000 Towards the Revitalization of Dunwoody Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park

Planning efforts are currently underway to revitalize Dunwoody Veterans Memorial at Brook Run Park. During a 2022 Memorial Day Ceremony earlier this year, a concept plan to upgrade the memorial was unveiled by the City of Dunwoody’s Department of Parks and Recreation.

DeKalb County Announces Application Deadline for the Tenant-Landlord Assistance Program

DeKalb County announced today that tenants and landlords have until Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at 5 p.m. to submit new applications for financial help through the DeKalb Tenant-Landlord Assistance Coalition (TLAC) based on federal deadlines. The U.S. Treasury Department deadline to obligate the Emergency Rental Assistance 1 (ERA1) Reallocation grant funds is Dec. 29, 2022.
