The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a virtual public master planning meeting Thursday, August 17, at 6 p.m. The community is invited to participate and offer guidance for future county park improvements via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/81180675881.

Tomorrow, Saturday, July 22, Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will host the Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive to ensure that DeKalb County students in need will have the necessary school items to help them succeed in the upcoming school year. This marks the fourth year that Commissioner Cochran-Johnson is partnering with the DeKalb County School District and local nonprofits on this event.

DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host his third Quarterly in the Fourth community breakfast meeting for 2023. The meeting will be held on Saturday, July 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Tobie Grant Recreational Center 593 Parkdale Drive Scottdale, Ga 30079.

“On behalf of the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, we are pleased that Mr. Howard Ginsberg has chosen to withdraw his Brookhaven annexation application,” said DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond. “This decision will promote transparency and protect the due-process rights of DeKalb residents.”

The DeKalb County Charter Review Commission will meet Thursday, July 27, at 6 p.m. to continue to review sections of the County Organizational Act. The meetings will be held in person at the County’s Sams Street facility, 178 Sams Street, Decatur, GA 30030. Free parking is available at this location.
