DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will host a Gateway to Fishing Program, Saturday, Aug. 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Park, 3985 LeHigh Blvd., Decatur, Ga. The event will take place at the fishing pond.

This Saturday, July 29, 2023, Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will be hosting a clean-up workday at the Arabia Mountain Vineyard to help DeKalb County's first wine grape vineyard. Arabia Mountain Vineyard, located in Stonecrest, GA, is family-owned and is the only wine-grape vineyard in the metro Atlanta area. It covers over 18-acres and is a premier tourist destination for residents in the state and across the U.S.

DeKalb County Public Library is delighted to announce that the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners has approved the architectural and engineering (A&E) services contract for the replacement of Brookhaven Library. After a competitive bidding process, Cas Architecture emerged as the highest scoring proposer. The firm was chosen based on its expertise and experience designing innovative, modern libraries in Georgia.

Tomorrow, Saturday, July 22, Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will host the Annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive to ensure that DeKalb County students in need will have the necessary school items to help them succeed in the upcoming school year. This marks the fourth year that Commissioner Cochran-Johnson is partnering with the DeKalb County School District and local nonprofits on this event.
