DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs youth basketball and cheerleading program registration is now open until Oct. 31. County youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to sign up for instructional or division basketball. The registration fee for the instructional league ages 5 to 6 is $25, $65 for ages 7 to 18 and will include one uniform.

DeKalb County Government has won national recognition as a top national leader in the innovative use of technology, including its work in enhancing the county’s cyber security. The Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties (NACo) ranked DeKalb County second in the nation among counties with a population of 500,000 to 999,999 in the 19th annual Digital Counties Survey.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will officially open play on their newly renovated putting greens at Mystery Valley Golf Club, 6094 Shadow Rock Drive, Lithonia, Ga., from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2. Since 2021, over $850,000 was allocated to complete improvements to the Mystery Valley Golf Course which included upgrades to the club house, renovation of all 66 sand bunkers, and converting the putting greens to Tift Dwarf Bermuda grass.

The East Central DeKalb Community and Senior Center will host a Community Family Game Night on Friday, September 1, 4885 Elam Road, Stone Mountain, Ga., from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 pm. The Community Family Game Night will offer a safe and fun environment for the entire family to enjoy. All ages are welcome to participate. This free event will include music, vendors, games and more. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.
