DeKalb County Fire Rescue(DCFR) presents its Blazing Brave Girls Camp, a free, one-day experience for high school girls (ages 14-18) to explore firefighting through hands-on activities. Join DCFR on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Academy, 3161 Warren Road, Decatur, GA 30034. This exciting program aims to build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills while exposing young women to the rewarding career of firefighting.

The DeKalb County Long Range Planning Division invites the Columbia neighborhood to its inaugural DeKalb Community Academy (DCA) "Columbia 101" public meeting on Wednesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. at Exchange Park, 2771 Columbia Dr, Decatur, GA 30034. The Planning & Sustainability Department will discuss local planning needs specific to the Columbia area and explore educational resources. The community is encouraged to attend from an educational perspective to acquire the necessary tools and resources needed to address planning-related matters from a community-led standpoint.

Efforts to improve the watershed system throughout DeKalb County continue Monday, March 31, with the launch of the Gravity Sewer Rehabilitation and Replacement Project. Crews will replace approximately 3,091 feet of gravity sewer main between Eastwyck Drive and Saratoga Drive. This sewer improvement project is expected to last approximately twelve months (March 2025 to March 2026), barring any weather delays.

The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections (DeKalb BRE) unanimously approved a series of proposed polling place changes during its regularly scheduled meeting on March 13, 2025. These changes, which include multiple temporary relocations and one permanent adjustment, will take effect during the June 17 Special Primary.
