DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews completed repairs to a 30” broken water main at 3661 Clairmont Road. “We are excited to announce that the water main break has been repaired,” said DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson. “When you start a job of this magnitude, whatever you find, you must deal with it in real time.” As service is restored, customers in the affected area may experience brown, milky or discolored water and are encouraged to run the faucets inside and outside their homes/businesses to clear the internal plumbing.

A boil water advisory is still in place until further notice. A detour remains in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and expect delays. The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management (DWM) is issuing a boil water advisory for the area east of Moreland Avenue, west of Candler St/Clairemont Ave, south of Mason Mill, and north of Hosea Williams Dr. DeKalb residents who receive their water from the City of Atlanta are not affected by the boil water advisory. DeKalb County is committed to keeping residents informed throughout this process. Regular updates will be provided via official county communication channels.
