Due to the limited amount of remaining funds and the large number of pending applications, DeKalb County announced today that it is suspending the acceptance of new applications for financial help through the DeKalb Tenant-Landlord Assistance Coalition (TLAC) program.
Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and The Covenant Church Host the ‘Operation Bundle’ Coat Drive

DeKalb County District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is partnering with The Covenant Church to host Operation Bundle, a community coat drive designed to provide much-needed seasonal apparel for those in need this winter. DeKalb County residents are encouraged to support Operation Bundle by taking their donations of new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and socks to The Covenant Church (1700 Corey Blvd., Decatur, GA 30032) now through Nov. 27, 2021.

DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw is sponsoring two Thanksgiving food distribution events and one COVID-19 and flu vaccination event on Saturday, Nov. 20. “I could not have imagined back in March 2020 that we would still be dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic nearly two years later,” Commissioner Bradshaw said.

DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will offer a fall break mini camp on Nov. 22-24 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost of camp is $10 a day for children ages 5-12. Participants must provide their own breakfast, lunch and snack. Park staff will meet campers outside all recreation centers for curbside dropoff and pickup. Parents will not be allowed to enter the facility during operating hours. All campers are required to be screened via temperature checks and must wear a mask while indoors.
