In observance of Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 25, sanitation collection service for residential customers will be based on the following revised collection schedule. The Seminole Road Landfill, and Central and North Transfer Stations will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25, reopening on Friday, Nov. 26, during normal operating hours. The Customer Care call center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday Nov. 26, reopening on Monday, Nov. 29, during normal operating hours.

On Saturday, Nov. 20, DeKalb County and six local churches will celebrate Thanksgiving Day 2021 with a food distribution during which residents will receive one 20-pound box of food that will include fresh eggs, collard greens, sweet potatoes, shelled pecans, apples, oranges, bananas and a 10-lb. bag of chicken hindquarters.

Today, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved CEO Michael Thurmond’s proposal to give DeKalb County Government employees $500 in incentives for COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. “These incentives are important tools as we continue to chip away at the number of unvaccinated people living and working in DeKalb County,” CEO Thurmond said.
