DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson in partnership with 100 Black Men of DeKalb will host a Youth Violence Prevention Rally & Summit Monday, June 27, at 6:00 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Intergenerational Center at Exchange Park. Commissioner Johnson started his ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! campaign over five years ago to focus on a comprehensive approach to crime prevention.

Due to the county’s observance of Independence Day on Monday, July 4, garbage, recyclable materials and yard trimmings collection for residential customers will run one day late. The North Transfer Station will be open from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Monday, July 4. The Customer Care call center, Central Transfer Station and Seminole Road Landfill will be closed on Monday, July 4, reopening on Tuesday, July 5, during normal operating hours.

DeKalb Voter Elections and Registration (DeKalb VRE) announces its unofficial and incomplete results for the June 21 primary runoff election and will certify its election results during the June 27 DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections (DeKalb BRE) meeting at noon. All results are unofficial and incomplete until the DeKalb BRE officially certifies the primary runoff election.

Due to a brief delay in voting, one DeKalb County precinct will remain open until 7:15 p.m. to provide voters with extended time to cast their ballots in the primary runoff election. The Woodridge Elementary precinct, located at Woodridge Elementary School, 4120 Cedar Ridge Trail A in Stone Mountain, experienced a brief delay in processing voters and will remain open until 7:15 p.m. – an additional 15 minutes beyond typical poll closing.
