On June 10, a portion of the road near 2826 Pangborn Road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while crews work to determine the cause of a sink hole in the asphalt and to repair damage done by the sink hole with temporary measures until a permanent repair can be accomplished.

Georgia District 53 Rep. Sheila Jones will hold a special event along with several representatives and local commissioners recognizing June 12 annually as Women Veterans Day in Georgia as decreed in State House Resolution 978. To kick off this observance, an inaugural celebration to recognize women veterans will take place on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Georgia State Capitol, Room 341, 206 Washington St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30334.

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections will host a Special Called Meeting on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 10 a.m. to consider the addition of a newly identified advance voting location and to vote on changes to three Election Day precincts. his meeting will be conducted via teleconference (Zoom). Simultaneous public access to the meeting will be available via livestream on DCTV’s UStream channel at https://video.ibm.com/channel/dctv-channel-23.

After initially delaying certification of primary election results following technical issues related to the Commissioner District 2 contest, DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections voted 4 to 1 to certify the election during a special called meeting on June 3. Board member Anthony Lewis (R) cast the lone dissenting vote. Additionally election officials announced an updated advance voting schedule for DeKalb’s runoff elections.
