The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections will host a Special Called Meeting on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 10 a.m. to consider the addition of a newly identified advance voting location and to vote on changes to three Election Day precincts. his meeting will be conducted via teleconference (Zoom). Simultaneous public access to the meeting will be available via livestream on DCTV’s UStream channel at https://video.ibm.com/channel/dctv-channel-23.

After initially delaying certification of primary election results following technical issues related to the Commissioner District 2 contest, DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections voted 4 to 1 to certify the election during a special called meeting on June 3. Board member Anthony Lewis (R) cast the lone dissenting vote. Additionally election officials announced an updated advance voting schedule for DeKalb’s runoff elections.

Briarlake Road NE, between Briarcliff Road NE and Tristan Circle NE, will be closed to through-traffic daily, intermittently, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 to Wednesday, November 30, to facilitate the installation of 600 linear feet of a 16-inch stormwater drain pipe, replace curb, and resurface pavement between 2610 and 2634 Briarlake Road in Atlanta, Ga. 30345.

Dahlia Drive, between Ivy Road and Laurel Road, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 9, to facilitate a large crane removal of a tree at 628 Olive Road in Pine Lake, Ga. 30072. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will host its sixth annual Father-Daughter Dance at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, GA, on June 11 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Father-Daughter Dance is for all ages and costs $15 per couple and $5 for each additional child.
