In observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 30, garbage, recyclable materials and yard trimmings collection for residential customers will run one day late. The North Transfer Station will be open from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Monday, May 30. The Customer Care call center, Central Transfer Station and Seminole Road Landfill will be closed on Monday, May 30, reopening on Tuesday, May 31, during normal operating hours.

As the President of National Association of Counties (NACo) and DeKalb County, District 3 Commissioner, Commissioner Larry Johnson on Monday, May 16, will join leaders from the nation’s leading city, county and state organizations will kick off Infrastructure Week (May 16-20) by sharing how game-changing federal investments in infrastructure are benefiting communities across the country.

DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) is reminding voters who plan to cast ballots on May 24 to double check their voting precincts. Approximately 56,500 voters in DeKalb will be impacted by recent redistricting efforts that have changed their Election Day voting precincts. Those impacted voters will receive an official correspondence from DeKalb VRE in the coming days.

Palafox Drive NE, between Argonne Way NE and Woodland Hills Drive NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, May 20, to facilitate a large crane removal of a tree at 1135 Palafox Drive NE, Atlanta, Ga. 30324. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

On May 16, a portion of Lullwater Road Northeast, between The By Way Northeast and North Decatur Road, will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while crews work to replace 24-inch-diameter stormwater pipe. Traffic will be detoured to Oakdale Road.
