The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a virtual Parks Citizen Advisory Board Committee meeting on Tuesday, May 17 2022, at 6 p.m. The meeting to discuss current park improvements and recreation projects will be conducted via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/85963051530.

DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) is encouraging voters who plan on voting at Emory University on May 9, as part of the advance voting period, to be aware of potential heavy traffic around the Emory University campus during voting hours.

DeKalb County and its contractors will continue the water line replacement on Panthersville Road. Work is planned for Monday, May 9, through Friday, May 13, barring any weather delays. As crews connect the new water main, residents may experience periods of low to no water pressure during the work hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. these planned outages are expected to last approximately one to four hours. Construction crews will work diligently to minimize the impact to residents.

Springdale Road NE, between Harvard Road NE and North Decatur Road NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 to facilitate a large crane removal of a tree at 1343 Springdale Road NE, Atlanta. GA 30306. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

Efforts to improve water service capacity throughout DeKalb County continue Monday, May 9, with the launch of the Reindeer Drive Water Line Replacement Project. Crews will replace 22,000 linear feet of crumbling water lines with new six-, eight- and 16-inch-diameter ductile-iron water lines along Reindeer Drive. This line repair project is expected to last approximately 12 months (May 2022 to April 2023), barring any weather delays.
