In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 19, garbage, recyclable materials, and yard trimmings collection for residential customers will be based on a revised collection schedule as follows. The North Transfer Station will be open from 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, resuming normal operating hours on Tuesday, Jan. 20. The Customer Care call center, administration building, Central Transfer Station, and Seminole Road Landfill will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 20, during normal operating hours.

DECATUR, Ga. – Due to forecasted freezing temperatures and hazardous wind chills, DeKalb County will activate warming centers beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, continuing through Friday, January 16, 2026. All transportation routes originate from Frontline Response Headquarters (2585 Gresham Rd SE, Atlanta) and are scheduled for initial pickups to be completed by 7:30 p.m. Following the initial routes, final sweeps will continue from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., ending promptly at 10 p.m.
