Today, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners in a unanimous vote approved a new five-year contract with American Medical Response (AMR) for emergency ambulance services. The total maximum value of the new contract extension based on performance is $77,773,900. “As we continue to reimagine how EMS is provided in DeKalb County, I am excited at the progress we have made and expect this contract will allow us to better serve our residents,” said CEO Cochran-Johnson. “We will have a world-class emergency medical service.”

At a press conference this morning, DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson, DeKalb County Board of Commissioners, DeKalb County Community Development Department, and the DeKalb County School District, announced initiatives to support families during difficult economic times. “Across the nation, and right here in Dekalb County, families are feeling the effects of a challenging economy,” said CEO Cochran-Johnson. “As costs rise and uncertainty continues, we are responding with compassion, coordination, and action."

The Seminole Road Landfill, and the Central and North Transfer Stations will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, reopening on Friday, Nov. 28, during normal operating hours. The Customer Care call center and administration building will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday Nov. 28, reopening on Monday, Dec. 1, during normal operating hours. After certifying the Nov. 4 Municipal General/Special Election results, the DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections (BRE) and DeKalb Voter Registration & Elections (VRE) announce early voting details for the Dec. 2 runoff elections, which will take place Nov. 22–26 at five locations across DeKalb County.
