Due to forecasted freezing temperatures and hazardous wind chills, DeKalb County will activate warming centers beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 14, continuing through Wednesday, December 17, 2025. To support the early morning activation time, revised transportation pickups will be conducted only on Sunday, December 14. Initial pickups are scheduled for 5:00 a.m. These times are reversed from the standard evening schedule to accommodate the 6:00 a.m. warming center opening.

Due to forecasted freezing temperatures and hazardous overnight wind chills, DeKalb County will open the following warming centers for residents beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, December 8th – December 9th, 2025. All transportation routes originate from Frontline Response Headquarters (2585 Gresham Rd SE, Atlanta) and are scheduled for initial pickups to be completed by 7:30 p.m. Following the initial routes, final sweeps will continue from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., ending promptly at 10 p.m.

DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management crews continue to repair a 36” broken water main at 3124 Midway Road. Water pressure has been fully restored and there are currently no reported water outages. Customers in the affected area may experience brown water and are encouraged to run the faucets inside and outside their homes/businesses to clear the internal plumbing. Motorists are asked to please avoid the area if possible and expect traffic delays. Traffic controls are in place as the repairs are being made.
