DeKalb County Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the District 4 community and senior center at 4885 Elam Road in Stone Mountain on Thursday, April 15, at 10 a.m. “I am pleased with the progress that is being made on the soon-to-come community and senior center and I am thrilled that we are we have scheduled the groundbreaking for this week,” Commissioner Bradshaw said.

Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host his second Quarterly in the Fourth Community Breakfast meeting for 2021 that will be held virtually for the foreseeable future. “I miss not having in-person community meetings with constituents and I look forward to resuming these meetings at community-based locations hopefully later this year,” said Commissioner Bradshaw.

Meadowvale Drive NE, between Abby Lane NE and Marann Drive NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 7 a.m. Thursday, April 15, to 11 p.m. Friday, April 16, to facilitate the filming of Powerpuff Girls at 2220 Meadowvale Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30345. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

On Monday, April 12, Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at transforming public spaces into regenerative, productive urban landscapes. The project, called Fruitful Communities, will address food insecurity, food deserts and developing policies that combat climate change at the local level.
