Starting Monday, May 3, DeKalb County Public Library will offer one-hour book browsing appointments. Prior to entry, each patron must submit to a temperature screening and proper face coverings will be required. Patrons are encouraged to use self-checkout machines where available. Contact-free pickup for materials will transition to “grab-n-go,” where patrons can pick up their items inside the branch.

The county is in the process of assessing the repairs needed for a leak in a section of water pipe near the intersection of Kilgore Lane and Kilgore Road in Lithonia. The county will provide an estimate of work completion when it becomes available.

DeKalb County Government will buy approximately 20,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from area troops for its upcoming food distribution and for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. “This is not simply about buying Girl Scout cookies,” said DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond.
