DeKalb County Government is partnering with local faith leaders to distribute 5,000 produce boxes, dozens of eggs and 10-pound bags of chicken hindquarters on Saturday, April 9. “Our senior citizens on fixed incomes and working families are struggling to provide food for themselves and their families,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said. “DeKalb County and our faith partners will continue to hold monthly food distributions to help relieve the burden of rising food prices.”

The DeKalb-Peachtree Airport Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 11, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/84958022051.

DeKalb County Government is being recognized as a recipient of the 2022 Good Trouble Honor for its “Get Vaxxed” COVID-19 vaccination efforts. The Innovation in Government honor, awarded by the Center for Civic Innovation, recognizes “a local government agency, elected official, or civil servant who has broken through the status quo to lead a policy, program, project, or partnership to make our government more effective, equitable, responsive, and/or participatory.”

Grady Health System and DeKalb County District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will host a special town hall to address violence in our community. The virtual Violence Prevention Town Hall will be held Monday, April 4, 2022, at 6 p.m., and will feature experts in violence prevention who will offer an in-depth discussion regarding community-based programs that prevent, interrupt and reduce violence, as well as expand opportunity and decrease recidivism.

Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) will host its Good Neighbor Day Air Show and Open House May 14, 2022, at 2000 Airport Rd, Atlanta, GA 30341. The focus of this year's show will be the 80th anniversary of the Naval Air Station and its history with PDK.
