Three local business leaders and public servants will be recognized for their community contributions on Wednesday, April 26, during DeKalb’s State of the County program, titled “All Aboard DeKalb… Greatness is our Destination.” “As W.W. King Bridge Builder Award recipients, these business leaders and public servants are being recognized for their servant leadership in DeKalb County and beyond,” said DeKalb CEO Michael Thurmond.

DeKalb County District 4 Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host his 2nd Quarterly in the Fourth community breakfast meeting for 2023. The meeting will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Wade Walker YMCA, 5605 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain. DeKalb County department representatives will be available to respond to questions and Robert Davis, interim director of WorkSource DeKalb, will provide an overview of employment and training resources.

Super District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is proud to announce a partnership with the DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs Department and the Georgia Department of Agriculture that allows local residents to become certified egg candlers at no cost.

The DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) is asking residents and businesses to help keep the community safe by listing their private security camera in a registry. The Connect DeKalb County Initiative gives private residents and business owners the ability to register their cameras in an online portal accessible only by DKPD to create a map of the location of private cameras.
