Commissioners Larry Johnson and Mereda Davis Johnson are partnering with the Decatur Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. (DAC) to host the Fortitude Fitness Expo on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, GA 30034.

Super District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson will serve alongside a distinguished list of elected officials as a grand marshal in the 26th Annual County Line Parade on Saturday, April 29. Promoting the theme, “A Day of Fun in the Park,” the parade begins promptly at 9 a.m. and family fun activities will continue until 6:30 p.m.

DeKalb’s annual State of the County Business Luncheon is sold out, with more than 500 tickets reserved. DeKalb County CEO Thurmond Michael Thurmond will present his 2023 State of the County address and three local business leaders and public servants will be recognized for their community contributions on Wednesday, April 26, during the program, titled “All Aboard DeKalb… Greatness is our Destination.”

The DeKalb County Police Department (DKPD) is hosting a free Community Outreach Event on Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kroger Parking Lot, 2385 Wesley Chapel Road, Decatur, Ga.  During the event, residents will receive free goodies as well as access to many useful resources. DKPD will also be hosting games for the community to enjoy.

Commissioner Robert Patrick and DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond, in partnership with DeKalb County's Transportation Department, and DeKalb County’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs, will unveil the newest traffic light at Pleasantdale Elementary School on Monday, April 24th, 2023.
