Due to the limited amount of remaining funds and the large number of pending applications, DeKalb County announced today that it is suspending the acceptance of new applications for financial help through the DeKalb Tenant-Landlord Assistance Coalition (TLAC) program. The last day to apply for the program will be Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

As part of the ongoing Memorial Drive Community Rebranding Initiative, Commissioner Bradshaw, in partnership with DeKalb County Planning and Sustainability, Community Development and Houser Walker Architecture, will host the public meeting to present the finalists for both the logo and branding efforts. This is a result of a public meeting held in December 2022 to gather feedback from the community.

DeKalb County is receiving $10.3 million in grants to be used at six park facilities. Georgia Gov. Brian P. Kemp announced preliminary grant awards May 18 for 142 qualified projects statewide that improve neighborhood assets like parks, recreation facilities, sidewalks, and healthy food access in communities across the state disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will host its seventh annual Father-Daughter Dance at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, Ga, on June 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration will be open now until June 9.

Super District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson of and Super District 6 Commissioner Ted Terry announce a joint town hall on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Manuel Maloof Auditorium, 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, to discuss the planned rollout of fee increases necessary to sustain and meet the needs of the water infrastructure system in DeKalb County.
