DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Department will host a Movies in the Park series every Wednesday in July in various locations across the county at dusk and with each movie starting at 8:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring family and friends, blankets, lawn chairs and food for each showing. All featured movies will be PG-13 and rated viewable for all ages to enjoy.

DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson invites the residents of DeKalb District 3 to the 21st Annual Spring Town Hall on Tuesday, June 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Rainbow Park Amphitheater, 3181 Rainbow Park Decatur, GA 30034. This year’s theme is Bringing Hope in a Big Way. The town hall will allow residents an opportunity to gain insight into District 3 activities and to hear important information. 

DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson, in partnership with 100 Black Men of DeKalb, will host a Youth Voicez: Violence Prevention Summit Monday, June 12, at 4 p.m. at Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center. Commissioner Larry Johnson started his ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! campaign to focus on a comprehensive approach to violence and crime prevention. This approach includes involving and working alongside the youth.

DeKalb Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs is hosting a job fair on Thursday, June. 15, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fire Rescue headquarters, 1950 West Exchange Place, Tucker, GA. The county is currently recruiting for ground maintenance workers. At the job fair, attendees will be able to meet with park management hiring staff, interview for current openings and learn about salary and benefits. The job fair is free and open to the public.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs will hold a third virtual public master planning meeting Wednesday, June 21, at 6:00 p.m. The community is invited to participate and offer guidance for future county park improvements via Microsoft Teams.
