DeKalb County Government is partnering with local faith leaders to distribute 3,600 boxes of produce and chicken on Saturday, Oct. 23, and Monday, Oct. 25. “More and more people are facing growing food insecurity due to skyrocketing food prices,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said. “This food distribution will provide much needed relief to families struggling to keep food on their tables.”

DeKalb County residents who reside within the boundaries of the City of Atlanta are urged to cast their ballots by 7 p.m. on Election Day to avoid voting by a provisional ballot. In DeKalb, the Nov. 2, 2021, polling hours are 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. While precincts within Atlanta-DeKalb officially close at 8 p.m., these 13 polling locations would require voters who arrive to the polling locations after 7 p.m. on Nov. 2 to cast a provisional ballot as opposed to voting on a touchscreen ballot machine.

DeKalb County Government and DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) express their sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the tragic airplane crash on Oct. 8. PDK Airport is supporting the National Transportation and Safety Board’s investigation into the cause of the crash.
