Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson to Host Inaugural Trunk & Treat

DeKalb County District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is partnering with the DeKalb County School District’s (DCSD) Department of Family and Community Empowerment to host the inaugural DeKalb County Trunk & Treat for Halloween. The DeKalb County Trunk & Treat will officially kick off DCSD’s Family Engagement Month and will take place at Northlake Mall on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Michelle Obama Trail Ribbon-cutting and Ceremonial Walk Scheduled for Oct. 27

This $3.9 million project was funded by the DeKalb Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), Georgia Department of Transportation and the PATH Foundation. DeKalb County will receive an estimated $388 million in SPLOST revenue over a six-year period to improve county roads, infrastructure, libraries, parks, and public safety. Briarcliff Road Lane Closure Begins on Nov. 1

On Nov. 1, a portion of the northbound lane along Briarcliff Road, between Woodlake Drive and North Druid Hills Road, will be closed Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews work to replace 160 linear feet of ductile-iron water pipe. This section of Briarcliff Road will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 12.

DeKalb County Voter Registration to Hold Special Called Meeting on Oct. 27

The DeKalb Board of Registration and Elections will hold a Special Called Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. This meeting will be conducted via teleconference (Zoom). Simultaneous public access to the meeting will be available via livestream on DCTV’s UStream channel at https://video.ibm.com/channel/dctv-channel-23.
