Today, DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond proposed to the Board of Commissioners a $500 DeKalb Employee Vaccinations incentive. “These $500 in incentives would help promote a healthier, safer county workforce as we face the looming possibility of a COVID-19 and flu ‘twindemic,’” CEO Thurmond said.

DeKalb is hosting a number of runoff contests held in three cities: Atlanta, Tucker and Stonecrest. In the City of Atlanta, DeKalb-Atlanta voters will return to the polls to vote for Mayor, City Council President, City Council Member Post 3 At-large, City Council Member District 5, and Board of Education Member District 7 At-large. In Tucker, voters will decide a runoff for City Council Member District 2 Post 1. Stonecrest voters will be voting for City Council Member District Post 1.

DeKalb County District 7 Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is partnering with the DeKalb County School District’s (DCSD) Department of Family and Community Empowerment to host the DeKalb County 2021 Fall Festival. The DeKalb County 2021 Fall Festival will officially close out DCSD’s Family Engagement Month and will take place at Wade Walker Family YMCA (5605 Rockbridge Rd SW, Stone Mountain, GA 30088) on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, from 2 to 5 p.m.
