DeKalb County’s eviction moratorium is set to end tomorrow, Sept. 29, but the county will continue to distribute rental assistance funding until monies are exhausted. DeKalb County Superior Court Chief Judge Asha Jackson signed an emergency judicial order on July 30, 2021, creating a 30-day eviction moratorium for the county following the expiration of the CDC moratorium.

DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) is pleased to offer a new, no-contact option for voters in DeKalb County. Through a new voter kiosk, DeKalb County residents can register to vote, update and verify voter registration, print precinct cards and other election-related information.

The DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs has opened registration for the fall break mini camp program. The fall break mini camp is for ages 5 -15, runs Oct. 7, 8 and 11, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The camp fee is $10 per day. All participants must bring breakfast, lunch and snack.

DeKalb County Commissioner Lorraine Cochran-Johnson is allocating a total of $55,500 from her District 7 Reserve for Appropriation funds to assist two entities in the creation of their master site plans that will enhance the quality of life in DeKalb County. “It is beneficial for government agencies to support the creation and evolution of green spaces where a community’s character is preserved, protected and projected for growth,” said Commissioner Cochran-Johnson.
