Beginning on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Crestline Dr. will be closed to through traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Crestline Dr. between Crestline Ct. and Lebaron Dr. to facilitate tree removal work on 1756 Crestline Dr, Atlanta, GA 30345. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of tree removal work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

The DeKalb County Sanitation Division will host its spring household hazardous waste recycling event on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 8 a.m. – noon, at the Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station, 3720 Leroy Scott Drive, Decatur, GA 30032. During the event, county residents will have an opportunity to properly dispose of dangerous household items that are no longer in use. Hazardous materials such as aerosols, batteries, adhesives, flammables, lawn care products, fluorescent light bulbs, photo chemicals, paint, paint-related products and artist supplies will be accepted. Paint will be limited to 10 gallons per vehicle.

Due to forecasted cold weather, DeKalb County will open the following four warming centers for residents on Sat. and Sun, Feb. 22 and 23, starting at 8 p.m. Frontline Response International has been contracted to serve individuals who need assistance during extreme weather conditions. Unlike DeKalb’s traditional warming centers, hot meals, beds, and case management services are centralized at Frontline. DeKalb offers transportation services from all its warming centers to Frontline for individuals who wish to take advantage of those centralized services.

Due to forecasted cold weather, DeKalb County will open the following three warming centers for residents 24 hours a day beginning 8 p.m. Wed., Feb. 19, until 8 a.m., Sat., Feb. 22. DeKalb County’s overnight only warming center, North DeKalb Senior/Community Center, 3393 Malone Drive, Chamblee, will remain open. Special transportation will be provided each morning to one of the 24-hour warming center locations. Frontline Response International has been contracted to serve individuals who need assistance during extreme weather conditions.

The DeKalb County Georgia governing authority intends to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for DeKalb County. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this matter to be held at the Dunwoody Library, 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338 on Thursday February 20, 2025, at 10am.
