The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections (DeKalb BRE) unanimously approved a series of proposed polling place changes during its regularly scheduled meeting on March 13, 2025. These changes, which include multiple temporary relocations and one permanent adjustment, will take effect during the June 17 Special Primary.

On Wed., Mar.19, 2025, through Mon., Apr. 7, 2025, Northview Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to facilitate the installation of sewer and storm tie-ins at 1901 Eastfield Street, Decatur, GA 30032. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.

Due to forecasted severe weather including the potential for tornadoes, damaging winds, heavy rain and hail. DeKalb County will open the following four severe weather centers for residents on Sat., Mar. 15, starting at 8 p.m. Frontline Response International has been contracted to serve individuals who need assistance during extreme weather conditions. Hot meals, beds, and case management services are centralized at Frontline. DeKalb offers transportation services from all its severe weather centers to Frontline for individuals who wish to take advantage of those centralized services.
