On Aug. 2, a portion of the northbound lane along South McDonough Street, between Hill Street and Griffin Circle, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews work to rehabilitate 272 linear feet of ductile-iron sewer pipe. This section of South McDonough Street will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

DeKalb County Government has won national recognition as a leader in the innovative use of technology for the fifth consecutive year, including its response to the COVID-19 pandemic over the last two years. The Center for Digital Government and the National Association of Counties (NACo) ranked DeKalb County second in the nation among counties with a population of 500,000 to 999,999 in the 19th annual Digital Counties Survey.

DeKalb County vaccinated 185 people against the deadly COVID-19 virus and gave each a $50 prepaid debit card during its monthly food distribution July 24 at three locations. That was a 48 percent increase over the previous vaccination event where the debit cards were not passed out as incentives for receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

DeKalb County Government is giving away $50 prepaid debit cards as incentives for the first 300 people receiving COVID-19 vaccinations July 24 during the county’s monthly food distribution. Beginning at 8 a.m., DeKalb County Board of Health medical professionals and DeKalb Fire Rescue paramedics and EMTs will administer voluntary COVID-19 vaccinations to residents 12 years of age and older at three locations.

Commissioner Steve Bradshaw will host his third Quarterly in the Fourth Community Breakfast meeting for 2021 on Saturday, July 24, via Zoom. “Although we are meeting virtually, I am pleased that we are able to continue meeting with constituents,” Commissioner Bradshaw said. “It remains important to me to provide these community meetings for constituents and I look forward to resuming these meetings in person.”
