DeKalb County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs youth soccer registration is now open to August 16. The soccer program is geared for youth ages U6 – U12 and will focus on skill development, fitness and team training drills. To register, visit www.dekalbcountyga.gov/parks and click the “Register Now” button. Registration is $40 per child and a birth certificate is required to complete registration.

DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson will host T.H.R.I.V.E. in Biz virtual fireside chat Thursday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. The Technology, Health, Readiness, Infrastructure, Vulnerable Populations and Economic Opportunities (T.H.R.I.V.E.) in Biz will focus on encouraging people to keep going in business, how to go from surviving to thriving, creative ways to be uniquely you and prosper, and business tips and tools for everyday use.

On Aug. 2, a portion of the southbound lane along South Columbia Drive, between Craigie Avenue and East College Avenue, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews work to rehabilitate 532 linear feet of ductile-iron sewer pipe. This section of Arcadia Avenue will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

On Aug. 2, a portion of the northbound lane along South Columbia Drive, between Missionary Drive and Derrydown Way, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews work to rehabilitate 386 linear feet of ductile-iron sewer pipe. This section of South Columbia Drive will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

On Aug. 2, a portion of the northbound lane along South Columbia Drive, between Derrydown Way and Shadow Moor Drive, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews work to rehabilitate 345 linear feet of ductile-iron sewer pipe. This section of Columbia Drive will reopen on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
