South Columbia Drive Lane Closure Continues on Aug. 9

On Aug. 9, a portion of the Northbound lane along S. Columbia Drive between Derrydown Way and Shadow Moor Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews continue work to rehabilitate 345 linear feet of ductile-iron sewer pipe. This section of Columbia Drive will reopen on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Commissioner Robert Patrick Welcomes U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to District 1

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is scheduled to make an appearance in District 1 on Friday, Aug. 6, to pitch the Safe Streets for All program. Secretary Buttigieg will tour the Buford Highway corridor, located in District 1 of DeKalb County at 1 p.m. He will be joined by U.S. Rep. Lucy McBath and local officials to view the New Peachtree Road Livable Centers Initiative Project.

DeKalb Watershed Performing Maintenance on 30-Inch Water Main near Katie Kerr Drive

On Monday, Aug. 9, DeKalb County and its contractors will repair a leaking 16-inch water line on Peachcrest Road, between Maplehurst Drive and Columbia Drive. Work is expected to last approximately four hours, unless unforeseen circumstances arise that may impact this schedule.

Today, July 31, DeKalb County, in partnership with the DeKalb County Board of Health and Medcura Health, administered more than 230 COVID-19 vaccinations and tested more than 50 adults and children. “This event has been a huge success by any measure,” said DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond. “We are committed to eradicating this disease and fighting to keep DeKalb County residents safe.”
