Efforts to reduce sewer spills throughout DeKalb County will continue with the launch of the Sowell Estates Sewer Replacement Project. The project is one of the initial 103 areas listed on the modified consent decree priority fix list targeting repeat spill areas. To date, approximately 40 sites on the priority fix list have begun or been completed.

DeKalb County Government is partnering with local faith leaders to distribute 3,600 boxes of produce and chicken on Saturday, Oct. 23, and Monday, Oct. 25. “More and more people are facing growing food insecurity due to skyrocketing food prices,” DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond said. “This food distribution will provide much needed relief to families struggling to keep food on their tables.”

Foster Ridge Road NE, between Caladium Drive NE and Hawthorne Drive NE, will be closed to through-traffic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, October 22, to facilitate the removal of a tree at 2842 Foster Ridge Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30345. Road closure and detour signs will be placed in the area during the road closure period advising motorists of construction work in the area and of local traffic restrictions.
